I have been playing basketball since I
was five years old. At five years old I
went to the YMCA for a program that
helps you learn about basketball. I
went to YMCA for one year. From 5-8
we were going to practice at the
Healey School. At eight years old I
started to go to the Somerville high
school for a program called S.Y.L. on
Saturdays at 10:45 which I still go to
now. I also go to after school for
basketball with MISS.CB from grades
5-6. This is all the experience I have in
basketball.
Flag Football at the
Healey School
Matthew Collins
Our school is running a flag football
team playing against other schools in
the city. We have many kids from 6th,
7th, and 8th grades with kids playing
like me, Jacob, Salim Warsame,
Henrique Almieda, Zebranique,
Richard, Justin, Thiago, and other kids
from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. We
meet every Monday and Wednesday
for practice at 7:15-8:00 in the morning
and we have games every Monday at
3:00 at Trum field. So if you want to
join come to the Healey gym on
Mondays and Wednesdays. The
Hawks could also use some support
with people to cheer for them and
some signs if you can make them for
our school. So don’t forget to cheer for
your team at Trum and help become 2-
0. GOOO Hawks!!!

WINTER FUN by Jeremy Nelson
January 24, 2009. If you are bored and do not know what to do you are just not thinking hard enough. There are so many things you can do in the snow or just in the cold! If you want a full day of fun in the snow go out skiing or snow boarding. But if you want do something where you can have a good time then do something else go ice-skating; it is not too cold, not too rough and always fun. Also if you are at a friend’s house and want to get out have a good old snow ball fight. Also ask your parents to go out to a sledding at a nearby hill. So if you need some thing to do put on some warm clothes and head outside.
